Parent Involvement
Studies have shown that regardless of race, creed, religion, or socioeconomic status, children do better when their parents are involved in their education. Our goal is to partner with you to ensure children reach their optimal development. Throughout the year, we will plan various social, recreational, and educational activities to involve you in your child’s early education at the school. The events are detailed in our School Year Calendar. This calendar will be provided to you at the beginning of the school year. Parents also have the opportunity to provide staff with ideas and activities to include on the weekly lesson plan. Please see your child’s teacher for details.
The school appreciates and acknowledges the role volunteers play in enhancing the program. We screen and orient volunteers to maximize their experience at the school. If you or someone you know is interested in a volunteer opportunity, please direct them to Sr. Brendan Bogdan at srbrendan@sjamilwaukee.org or 414-645-5337 extension 262. Please note that all volunteers are required to fill out a volunteer form and authorize us to do a background check before you can work around the children.
PARENT TEACHER ORGANIZATION (PTO)
SJA has a Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) to promote positive parental involvement with the school. Meetings are held once a month. Ask the office if you are interested. Members must be committed to participating in PAC meetings and events. Please contact our main office at 414-645-5337, if you are interested in joining PAC.
