TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION

St. Joseph Academy does not provide transportation to and from school. Parents/guardians are responsible for getting their child(ren) to school on time and picking them up from school on time. SJA staff will be monitoring the drop-off and pick-up of students.

ARRIVAL

Morning drop-off time is from 7:55 to 8:15 am. All grades are to enter through Door #7, off of 16th Street. Breakfast is only served until 8:15 am. When you drop your child(ren) off, they may grab their breakfast from the breakfast cart and then go straight to their classroom to get ready for the day. Please drop your child off prior to 8:10 am, as we would like all students to be in their classroom and ready to by 8:15m.

Any child who arrives at 8:30am or later, must be brought into the building by a parent.

DISMISSAL

After school pick-up time for all students is 3:30 pm. Each grade level has a designated location to be picked up. If you have children in multiple grades, follow the location for the youngest child. Students not picked up will wait in a hallway with staff until you pick them up.

SJA staff monitor the drop-off and pick-up of students. Students not picked up on time will wait in the office until a parent or approved adult picks them up.

You must pick-up your child on time, or you may be charged a fee of $10 after 4 pm and $2 for every 15 minutes after 4:00. We may call the Milwaukee Police Department as well.

St. Joseph Academy has a 1:00 pm early release every Friday. We use the 2 ½ hours to provide professional development for our teachers. We focus on how to instruct, facilitate and implement curriculums, host guests that come in to train our teachers, and provide teachers with time to collaborate and make their instructional practices stronger.

We understand that early releases from SJA can cause difficulties with figuring out childcare; therefore, we have partnered with the YMCA to provide the vital services before and after school. The YMCA offers a Friday only option to care for your child if you are not able to pick them up by 1:00 pm.

The options are as follows:

1) $94 – covers all the Fridays of the month.

2) $35 – covers the drop in fee for Fridays if you do not need the whole month.

We highly recommend completing the YMCA student profile in advance. Completing the profile does not result in charges. You will only be billed if your child begins using the service

Families who qualify may use WisShares to cover the cost of this childcare option.
