As part of The Cellular Connection’s “Color for College” program, several of our parents brought their St. Joseph Academy students to Milwaukee-area Cellular Connection stores to participate in a coloring contest. After a drawing on Sept. 5., not one, but two students discovered they’d won a $1,500 college scholarship!
Mr. Beadle is very proud. “I see this as opportunity to reinforce the fact that St. Joseph Academy provides a foundational education so students can go on to high school, graduate, and ultimately, attend a college or university,” he said.
Meet Our Winners:
Brandon P., who wants to be a doctor when he grows up, describes the experience of receiving the award: “I picked my favorite colors to color it and I colored nice. It was in a building and they gave me a backpack and the man told me I won, and my mom said congratulations. I felt happy!”
Guadalupe A., who plans on being a teacher one day, says, “I felt nervous and then I was super excited, and I wasn’t nervous when they gave me a hug.”
Congratulations, Brandon and Guadalupe–you have bright futures ahead!
Help us extend thanks to The Cellular Connection–the Verizon Wireless retailer donated $1,500 college scholarships to nearly 300 students across the country.
