St. Joseph Academy celebrated the graduation of our K5 students on Friday, June 6, 2014. Our kindergarteners, wearing caps and gowns, marched into the Great Room together, and Mr. Beadle welcomed every graduate with a high five!
The kids waved to the parents who have supported them through this journey so far–it’s a journey that might seem trivial to anyone more than four feet tall, but to our kindergarteners, K5 at SJA has comprised 20% of their young lives. In that time, our teachers have instilled students with an insatiable sense of curiosity, demonstrated what it means to be kind to others, and inspired the continuous pursuit of knowledge.
In his speech, Mr. Beadle encouraged the students to look forward to experiencing six more graduations after this one: 5th grade, 8th grade, high school, bachelor’s degree, and a master’s degree. You don’t just keep graduating because you get to “wear a bigger gown, and a silly hat,” he said. Instead, our students will experience six more graduations because there’s a lot of world out there to learn about–and this is just the very beginning.
