Students in grades K4 thru 3rd grade celebrated spring on Friday, April 4, with an afternoon concert for their parents and family members.

Ms. Teresa Drews, music teacher from the Milwaukee Conservatory of Music, showcased the students’ talents with age-appropriate songs and dances. According to SM Victoria Richardson, they “sparkled” with favorite American songs such as “This Land Is Your Land,” “America the Beautiful,” and “This Little Light of Mine,” as well as traditional songs from other cultures including a Mexican folk counting song.

Other highlights included the song Hinay Ma Tov, a traditional Hebrew song, that translates to “How Good It Is” and Kaeru No Uta Ga, a traditional Japanese song about a frog. In addition, the students danced an Irish jig and used ribbons, scarves, and shakers to accompany their songs.

Sister Victoria said, “It was truly a blessed and joyous day for parents and students to usher in spring with delightful melodies.”
