During the week of January 27-31, 2014 St. Joseph Academy hosted a variety of events in conjunction with National School Choice Week. National School Choice Week spotlights the importance of effective education options for children and families. In addition to the events at SJA, the Week will feature more than 5,000 independently-planned special events across the country. SJA uses this week to celebrate the tremendous student achievement, parental involvement, excellent teachers, and the unique learning environment it provides. The teachers and support staff look forward to continuing to positively impact the community.
Many fun events and spirit days to celebrate NSCW were planned. The students each wrote about why they love SJA. Children also created certificates to present to a “Very Important Person (VIP)” in their lives who have helped them on their journey to becoming a lifelong learner and problem solver. Students competed to create an SJA jersey. On Friday, January 31st, the students and staff wrapped up the week with a school wide pep rally to include teacher-student relay races, cheering competition, reciting the mission, and a 3 on 3 basketball game featuring the principal president/CEO, Mr. Beadle. For the game Mr. Beadle donned the winning student-created SJA jersey, which was created by Ms. Johnson’s 3rd Grade!
